THE FORMATION OF THE THERMAL WATERS
Who cares about the chaotic pace of life when there is beauty in the world? The beneficial properties of Ischia’s thermal waters, modified and enriched in the earth’s wonderful underground laboratory, are acknowledged by the national Board of Health.
Our pools and baths are replenished with water at hot (hyperthermal) temperature extracted from the underground aquifer. The origin and formation cycle is fascinating. For decades seawater and rain seep deep into the soil, flowing through the cracks and fissures of the green tuff, clay and other typologies of volcanic deposits, until they form aquifers inside layers of compact soil. Here, the water acquires its special characteristics and high temperature coming in contact with the magmatic body that lies in the heart of the Green Isle. Thus the thermal waters, the raw material of treatments and wellness, are a product of nature that comes to us with perfect properties and ancient purity.
The Spa at the four-star Parco Smeraldo Hotel in Ischia, right by the sea of Maronti, offers the guests quiet and relaxation with thermal water. A feeling of well-being for those who want to leave behind the daily stress, anxiety, and little nuisances and reinvigorate their body. A quiet and relaxed atmosphere welcomes the guests for a few hours of total detox from daily chaos and work routine with comfort, professionalism, and experience.

THE MUD THERAPY AND BALNEOTHERAPY
The treatment starts with 15-minute applications of warm mud on target areas. The body receives the clay’s warmth and precious mineral elements that, for six months and on a daily basis, pass from water to mud. The positive effects of the thermal mud combine with all the benefits of the clay, which re-mineralizes the skeleton, protecting and repairing the cartilage. After the mud treatment and thermal shower, move on to the bath prepared at the temperature set by our physician, mixing the water from the hotel’s aquifer with the water coming from the cooling pool. We recommend enriching the bath with hydro-massage and ozone. This is when the reaction to the sweating begun with the mud happens, preparing the guest for the massage.

THE THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
Combined with the thermal cure, the massages have a considerable myorelaxant effect, especially considering how muscular tension increases pain. The effect of this therapy on the patient’s well-being is therefore significant.

THE INHALATION THERAPY
The precious mineral salts found in thermal water reach every corner of the respiratory apparatus via the micro-nebulization produced by the inhalation tools. Inhalation therapy is also recommended to prevent ailment and pathologies.
