The Afrodite SPA wellness program is one of the Elisir Centre’s exclusive services. A welcoming and quiet environment, where the body and mind can merge to achieve a pleasant sensation of balance and inner harmony.
Inside you will find a Finnish sauna and Turkish bath, frigidarium, jet shower and emotional showers, a hydromassage pool with thermal water and a relaxation area with chromatherapy.
The program runs every day from 7.30 am to 8 pm, admission is €15 and includes a 60-minute session. Must be booked in advance.

Spa and physiotherapy treatments

Since ancient times, the hyper-thermal alkaline waters of our island have been a panacea for the treatment of chronic osteoarticular, otorhinolaryngologic and dermatological diseases.

The Ischia thermal springs were already well known to the ancient Greeks, who used them to refresh the mind and as a remedy for healing war wounds. Later, the Romans established a series of thermal spas, exploiting every source of the waters that were unique to Ischia. The beneficial properties of the water and the healthy vapours that emanated from the earth were considered supernatural manifestations and were worshiped and protected by temples dedicated to Apollo and the Nymphs of Nitrodi.

It wasn’t until the Renaissance period, around the end of the 1500s, that a proper survey of the springs on the island of Ischia was carried out, which identified the composition of the waters and made detailed scientific observations about their beneficial effects on various diseases. Ischia has one of the oldest hydrothermal traditions in the world and has as many as 69 groups of fumaroles and 29 groups of thermal springs scattered all over the island, which is about 42 square kilometers in area.
