Where is the spring

On the southern side of the island of Ischia (territory of the Municipality of Barano) two sources of hypothermal waters flow not far from each other: the medium-mineral water Nitrodi (bicarbonate-sulphate-alkaline and alkaline-earthy ) and Olmitello mineral water (bicarbonate-sulphate-alkaline). At the mouth of the spring located in a locality called Buonopane, in the municipality of Barano a small thermal access has been installed that allows you to easily take advantage of the medicinal properties of these waters.

How to reach the spring

The thermal spring of Nitrodi is located in the Municipality of Barano d'Ischia, in the Buonopane locality. The water flows from the fountain and from a shower, made available by the municipal administration and are located outside the park. All year round it is possible to take water to treat wounds, arthrosis, rheumatism and also simply to take part of the water or to drink it.

What its water looks like

The water of the Nitrodi spring is classified as medium - mineral (bicarbonate - sulfate and alkaline - earthy) and hypothermal. Among the main components: sodium, calcium, potassium, chlorine, sulfur, carbon. At the mouth of the source located in a place called Buonopane, in the municipality of Barano.

During your stay at the Source it is advisable to take abundant showers; especially for the first showers, it is good to stay under the flow of water for at least 10 minutes. The action of the minerals contained in the water leaves the skin smooth and smooth but above all clean, without saline and odorous residues, dilating the pores and letting the epidermis breathe. The richness of the bicarbonate and the mix of minerals contained in the Nitrodi water favor a natural exfoliation by washing away the various layers of dead cells.

After the Nitrodi shower, we recommend not washing with soaps or detergents for at least a few hours so as not to clog the pores of the skin again. The effect of baking soda will be immediately perceptible on the hair, making it clean and smooth, with a real balm effect.
